For the Love of Pete (And Other Baby Boys)

To the designers of baby boy clothes,

I do not want my baby boy wearing dump trucks, tractors, tow trucks, cement trucks, footballs, baseballs, dinosaurs, airplanes, rocket ships, bears dressed in fishing gear, bears dressed in jammies, cars, trains, jungle animals, anything indicating his future brattiness or troublemaking, anything stating how good looking either of his parents might be, dogs or motorcycles. And don't even get me started on tv/movie characters. Make a note of it. And stop it.

Sincerely,
A mom of (nearly) 4 boys who can't take it anymore. Seriously.

so...

That pretty much covers the entire industry. Will this Hoop boy be wearing pink?

I am not a fan of the "Bears dressed as...", but I am going to have to say I am guilty on a few of the other ones. I will make sure to chose my kids clothes wisely when we are together. lol

haha! you're so funny, thank goodness for stripes.
you've left out skull & crossbones or any pirate type items. are you against those in anyway? how about skateboards or skiing or snowboarding i noticed you left out soccer balls unless by football you mean soccer. ;) just teasing you.
I agree!! baby boys are the hardest to dress. its so hard to go shopping for my boys when the girls section is so close by. At least boys toys are more fun to buy than girls toys.

my word verification: terse. i think it's trying to tell me something

You're not guilty, Jamie, there are just no other options besides naked. Unless you're independently wealthy, and then you can find some cute stuff. I feel like some psycho hunter trying to find my very elusive prey. And I agree, JaNae, girl stuff is too easy and too fun. And Marley likes mostly boy toys, so she's a double whammy. :) Not resorting to pink yet, Adhis, but the clock is ticking here...

What about sailboats? Lol. I hear you, one reason why Gymboree drives me nuts. I do however like their clothes embellished by dogs or cats, mostly from Simone's sheer delight. I did buy Miles a pair of light-up shoes once, and just watching him get so excited about his shoes was worth it.

How do you feel about solid colors and stripes? I always go to Target when I want "plain" things for picture day.

I like all the boy things you mentioned (sorry) but I usually come home with solid polos or plaid button-fronts. Target seems classy but not pricey.
